Summer blockbuster season is now in full swing. The next Marvel Cinematic Universe film, “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” grossed $185 million in its first weekend in theatres, the biggest of any picture released in 2022.

“Nothing says movie theatres are coming back like a big-budget Marvel film,” said Paul Dergarabedian, senior media analyst at Comscore. “This is excellent news for the film industry, audiences, and the next picture slate.”
