According to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), it has not yet received any directives from the executive branch on the restart of mobile internet services.
The telecom regulator shut down mobile broadband services nationwide on May 9 as a result of violent demonstrations that broke out after Imran Khan’s detention.
The telecom regulator claimed that since the Ministry of Interior ordered the suspension, it has not received any additional directives from the authorities for the reinstatement of mobile internet services.
The restoration of mobile internet services is anticipated to occur within 36 hours, according to interior minister Rana Sanaullah’s announcement on Thursday.
