With the exception of a few sensitive places, mobile internet connection as been restored by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), but Pakistani consumers are still unable to access social media sites like Twitter and YouTube.

The information was provided by a PTA representative, who told ProPakistani that while some social media sites are still prohibited, users should be allowed to use WhatsApp.

According to the spokeswoman, PTA has not yet received any directives from the Interior Ministry on the reactivation of social media networks.
