According to a fresh Taiwanese rumour, Apple has ordered nearly the entire order capacity of TSMC’s 3nm processors for its iPhones and MacBooks.
According to the research, TSMC’s baseline 3nm process technology will account for around 90% of the company’s entire 3nm family capacity in 2023. Furthermore, Apple is said to have already allocated around 90% of this baseline 3nm capacity for the fabrication of future iPhones, MacBooks, and iPads.
Both the A17 and M3 processors are expected to be produced using TSMC’s superior 3nm technology. Apple’s orders for 3nm processors have been reported as far back as 2020, suggesting the company’s long-term strategic plan.
