According to Shaza Fatima Khawaja, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) for Youth Affairs, the Prime Minister Youth Programme would reinstate the laptop initiative this year. The SAPM stated during a recent news conference that the initiative seeks to distribute 100,000 computers to kids.

She expressed sadness over the previous government’s decision to end the initiative and emphasised the importance of laptops in allowing adolescents to continue their studies and work remotely amid the COVID-19 epidemic. The computers supplied by the previous administration, led by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, proved critical in ensuring continuity in the face of adversity.
