YouTube announced on Friday that it will no longer remove video that may have promoted misleading claims about US presidential elections in 2020 and prior.
The latest revisions are part of YouTube’s new election misinformation policy, which goes into effect immediately.
“In the current environment, we find that while removing this content does reduce misinformation, it may also have the unintended consequence of restricting political speech,” YouTube noted in a blog post.
