In an effort to stop the huge gathering of data on minors, the government said on Monday that nmark seeks to raise the age restriction for the collecting of personal data from children by digital companies like Google, Snapchat, and Meta.
It aims to raise the current age of permission for youngsters to share personal data with digital firms from 13 to between 15 and 16 years old. Additionally, in order to utilise data from children younger than that, the firms will need parental approval.
Business Minister Morten Bodskov stated, “The tech giants must take greater responsibility,” as the government outlined plans to limit the influence of big international tech firms.
