BOTHELL (AP) — Early in June, Microsoft’s premier office suite, which includes the file-sharing programmes OneDrive and Outlook email, experienced periodic but significant service interruptions. A mysterious hacktivist organisation took the blame, claiming that distributed denial-of-service assaults inundated the websites with unwanted traffic.
Microsoft was initially hesitant to admit that DDoS attacks by the mysterious upstart were to blame, but has since admitted that this was the case.
