Encryption chips, provided by a subsidiary of a company with direct ties to the Chinese military and mentioned in warnings issued by the US Department of Commerce, have nevertheless found their way into the storage hardware of sensitive high profile military and intelligence networks throughout Western countries due to the complex nature of the hardware supply chain.
