(AP) – An internal TikTok function that closely resembled the social media network BeReal is being removed.

The TikTok Now function, which was newly released in September, gives users daily prompts to take 10-second videos or pictures with their phones’ front- and back-facing cameras.

Users received a message that the service would be removed, according to a statement released by TikTok on Tuesday. It stated that users may still view earlier postings they had created using TikTok Now.
