The country’s anti-monopoly watchdog announced on Tuesday that a Russian court had fined Alphabet’s (GOOGL.O) Google 4 billion roubles ($47 million) for failing to pay an earlier fine over an alleged misuse of its dominating position in the video hosting market.

The judgement represents the most recent multi-million dollar fine in Moscow’s robust battle against international technology businesses.

In February 2022, Google was assessed a 2 billion rouble penalties. According to the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) at the time, “suspending and blocking users’ accounts and content” at Google’s YouTube was done in a “non-transparent, biassed, and unpredictable” manner, according to TASS.

In the end, Google challenged that judgement. An email inquiry for comment on Tuesday received no immediate response from the American business.
