After two years of delays, Tesla (TSLA.O) has completed construction of its first Cybertruck at the electric vehicle manufacturer’s plant in Austin, Texas, the company announced in a tweet on Saturday.
According to Musk, Tesla would like to produce up to a quarter million Cybertrucks annually, depending on demand, at a shareholder meeting in May.
With the launch of the Cybertruck, Tesla will be able to compete with electric pickups made by companies like Ford Motor (F.N) and Rivian Automotive (RIVN.O), both of whom have introduced models in still-restricted quantities.
