In his most recent appeal to protect online data and information, Chinese President Xi Jinping stated that China must create a “solid” security barrier around its internet under the control of the ruling Communist Party.
In a speech to authorities attending a two-day cybersecurity meeting in Beijing that ended on Saturday, Xi instructed them to continue controlling, running, and securing internet access in conformity with the law.
Xi was quoted by the state-run Xinhua news agency as stating, “We must uphold the Party’s administration of the internet and uphold (the principle of) making the internet work for the people.
