Google’s video streaming service YouTube increased the cost of its monthly and yearly premium plans in the US for the first time since the launch of the subscription service in 2018.
According to the company’s website on Thursday, the YouTube Premium plan would cost $13.99 a month in the U.S., an increase of $2 from the previous price. Its yearly package now costs $139.99, a $20 increase.
According to YouTube, subscribers who joined up more than five years ago, including those who did so through Google Play, will receive three further months of service at the previous rate.
