On Thursday, technology company G42 in the United Arab Emirates announced that it had purchased the first of three artificial intelligence (AI) supercomputers from Cerebras Systems under a $100 million contract.
The agreement comes as cloud computing companies around the world look for substitutes for Nvidia Corp.’s (NVDA.O) chips, the industry leader in AI computing whose products are in short supply as a result of ChatGPT and other services’ rising popularity. One of the many firms attempting to compete with Nvidia is Cerebras.
