On Thursday, Epic Games petitioned the U.S. Supreme Court to permit the implementation of a lower court decision against Apple Inc (AAPL.O), which might compel the iPhone manufacturer to alter its App Store payment policies.

The creator of the well-known video game “Fortnite,” Epic, filed a petition with the Supreme Court of the United States seeking it to overturn a judgement made on July 17 by the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco to put on hold its decision upholding an injunction against Apple. Apple has 90 days after the decision to file an appeal with the Supreme Court.

Epic launched their antitrust action in 2020 to contest Apple’s App Store policies in the keenly anticipated case.
