As it relates to intellectual property rights and the risk for the transmission of false information, some news organizations, writers, and photographer groups are asking to be included in the process of developing guidelines for the use of artificial intelligence.

They identified the top goals for establishing regulations on the technology, which is evolving more quickly than authorities can keep up with, in an open letter that was delivered on Wednesday.

“We… support the responsible advancement and deployment of generative AI technology, while believing that a legal framework must be developed to protect the content that powers AI applications as well as maintain public trust in the media,” the organizations said.
